Our itineraries are designed to be not too full—or
too empty! Each day we'll have breakfast at our hotel, followed
by the day's activities. In the evenings, you'll have the opportunity

Day
1: Friday, July 10, 2009 • Arrival in Geneva
Upon
arrival in Geneva, we’ll transfer to the hotel where Frank
will be waiting to greet us. The afternoon is free to enjoy this
delightful Swiss city. At our welcome dinner in the evening, we’ll
get to know the rest of our group. (D)
Day
2: Saturday, July 11, 2009 • Geneva
This morning we will begin at the Reformation Wall, followed by
a visit to the Reformation Museum in the beautiful historic quarter.
This Museum paints a comprehensive picture of the Reformation
from its origins to the present day, using the latest museum technologies.
We’ll also have a guided tour of St. Peter’s, including
the croft below. The afternoon will be free to explore the city
further. Dinner is on our own this evening. (B)
Day
3: Sunday, July 12, 2009 • Geneva, Grindelwald
We
will join fellow believers at a local church this morning with
a time of fellowship following. This afternoon we will drive through
the canton of Vaud and pass by the famous towns of Vevey and Montreux
en route to Castle Of Chillon, one of the most famous monuments
of this country, where we will take a guided tour. The views across
Lake Geneva are breathtaking. We'll then drive through the Alps
to Grindelwald (B, D)

4: Monday, July 13, 2009
• Grindelwald
Today we’ll enjoy the beauty of God’s creation with
a trip to the famous Alpine railway station of Kleine Scheidegg,
with views of the Eiger (Bear), Mönch (Monk) and Jungfrau
(Maiden) peaks. On this two-valley round trip we'll pass through
Wilderswil, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. On the way back to
our hotel, we’ll stop at the spectactular Trümmelbach
Falls. We’ll have our second overnight in Grindelwald, with
the opportunity to try some of the local restaurants on our own.

Day
5: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 •
Zurich
On
arrival, we will take a walking tour of Ulrich
Zwingli's city, Zurich, with a local expert guide. Highlights
will include the Frauenkirche and the Grossmünster Cathedrals.
We will also see the plaque on the side of the Limmat River where
Felix Manz and the other Anabaptists were baptized unto death
by drowning. The afternoon will be free to enjoy Zurich's unique
charms. (B,D)

6: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 •
Heidelberg, Rudesheim
Today we return to Germany, to explore Heidelberg and enjoy the
magnificent castle. In 1562, a 28 year old professor Zacharias
Ursinus, and a 26 year old preacher named Caspar Olevianus wrote
the Heidelberg Catechism one of the most important Calvinistic
statements of faith. We’ll end the day in Rüdesheim
with a welcome dinner for the Lutherland Tour participants for
the 7 day RFD09A tour will arrive today via Frankfurt airport.

7: Thursday, July 16, 2009 •
Worms, Rhine Cruise
After
breakfast today, we'll visit Worms and see the plaque commemorating
the Diet of Worms (Discussion). Lunch will be at winery today
and will include a tour and some samples. We'll end our day with
a relaxing Rhine cruise and a free evening to stroll around Rüdesheim.
There is a wonderful variety of local restaurants to choose from
this evening. (B, L)

8: Friday, July 17, 2009 •
Eisenach, Erfurt
This morning we’ll head north to visit Wartburg Castle,
near Eisenach, where Luther took refuge after a fake kidnapping
staged by his friend and protector, Frederick the Wise. Seeing
the very room where Martin Luther translated the New Testament
is a thrilling experience. We’ll also visit the Lutherhaus
and Bachhaus. We’ll have the privilege of staying in the
peaceful, calm Augustinian Monastery (subject to availability)
in Erfurt, where Luther lived and studied. (B, D)

9: Saturday, July 18, 2009
• Erfurt
This
morning we will learn about Erfurt's Reformation history, with
a guided tour, including Cathedral Hill, with the two churches
St. Mary's and St. Severin's Cathedral. Erfurt boasts a unique
medieval bridge, the Krämerbrücke (Bridge of Shops),
with homes and shops that are still used today. The rest of the
afternoon and evening will be free with the option of visiting
Buchenwald concentration camp (not included). Tonight we will
enjoy fellowship with local Christians over dinner. (B, D)
Day 10: Sunday, July 19, 2009
• Eisleben, Wittenberg
On
the way to Wittenberg, we'll stop in Eisleben to see the homes
where Martin Luther was born and where he died, both now museums.
Lutherstadt-Wittenberg is where the Reformation officially began
in 1517 and our guided tour will begin with showing us the church
where Luther posted his 95 Theses. Although the original door
was destroyed in a fire, the replica has all 95 Theses in bronze,
which is magnificent. Next we'll tour the Lutherhalle (Luther
House) Museum. In 1508, when Martin Luther came to Wittenberg,
he lived here with other Augustinian Monks. Later, Luther and
his wife, Katharina von Bora, raised six children here. We’ll
stay overnight in Wittenberg. (B, D)
Day
11: Monday, July 20, 2009 •
Berlin
Berlin
is a fascinating city with a wealth of history. On arrival we’ll
meet our local guide who will take us on an orientation tour,
including the Berlin Wall Museum and Checkpoint Charlie. We’ll
have some free time to either visit the Pergamon Museum, which
contains incredible Biblical artifacts, or to do some final shopping.
We’ll have a farewell meal and fellowship time and spend
the final night in Berlin. (B, D)
Day 12: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 •
Return home
Today we’ll either return to the USA or continue our travels
in Europe.
